Product Review | E.L.F. Hydrating Water Cleansing Cloths

Product Review | E.L.F. Hydrating Water Cleansing Cloths ($4, E.L.F stores and website) : Straight from the E.L.F. website, these hydrating, gentle cleansing cloths easily remove makeup and help nourish the skin with Purified Water. Infused with Aloe and Vitamins B & E, the cloths cool on contact and soothe and moisturize skin.

I am not a fan of cleansing cloths in terms of removing makeup for quite a few years now.  The Boots No 7 Makeup Cleansing Wipes was a favorite around 4 or 5 years ago and since Target was the only store that carried it and they also did not stock them regularly, it was pretty difficult to get my hands on them on a regular basis.  Since then, I opted to using cleansing waters or liquid makeup removers as a pre-cleanse prior to washing it all off with a foaming cleanser or some sort of face wash.

One of the things I do not like about makeup wipes or cloths is most of them are either too watery or dry.  It is almost hard to find a good middle man.  Also, I find that they seem to be harsher on the skin, depending on the cloth.  It feels like it is stripping the skin, with that abrasive feeling.  More and more products have added scents to their cleansing cloths/wipes, and for someone with sensitive skin like I do, I prefer scent-free products on my face.

I mostly use makeup wipes these days to remove makeup swatches on my hand and/or clean my vanity - but that's about it.  But when I travel, I prefer using makeup wipes instead of bringing cotton pads and any liquid makeup remover.  So when I saw this on the E.L.F. website and saw the words "Hydrating Water" on the package, I was obviously inclined to try it.  I love the color of the packaging, similar to their skincare line, the light teal-green package just screams fresh to me.  The packaging has a matte finish and I love that it has an actual open/close lid that snaps, instead of just an adhesive.  The ones with adhesives tend to dry out the wipes over time.  Most wipes are priced between $3.99 (such as off brands from stores like Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc) to $6.99 (brands such as Burts Bees, Neutrogena, Simple, Garner SkinActive and many others), so the price point for this is good.

The cloths are soft but sturdy and does not break after a few swipes on the face like others.  It has the best balance in terms of moisture, not too wet, not too dry.  It is moisturizing and hydrating.  Some cleansing cloths leave the skin dry after use, but not this one.  I love the ingredients on this product as they are not harsh on the skin.

Would I repurchase? Yes. This is definitely a must have for travel and especially if you like using makeup wipes as a pre-cleanse to your makeup removal routine.
