Product Review | Ready To Wear Beauty Skin Perfection Serum Foundation

Product Review | Ready To Wear Beauty Skin Perfection Serum Foundation ($30, Ready To Wear Beauty website and HSN.COM)

Product Details (from Ready To Wear Beauty's website): You will know it is different the very first time you see it; the color pigment is in the lower half of the bottle and the serum portion floats on top. A serum, usually found in a skincare regimen, is composed of smaller particles that can deliver anti-aging ingredients to the skin. Shake bottle well to blend the two segments.

Review:  This is one of five products sent to me by Ready To Wear Beauty.  As always, I will provide an honest and in depth review of all the products sent.

If you have read my previous review on the packaging of this brand - I love it.  The box itself is a nice classic black and white with a pop of hot pink.  It makes it so much fun - not that there is anything wrong with black and white, I personally love those color schemes but fun packaging is good and it is not overly done.  The product is contained in a nice frosted glass bottle with some legit weight to it.  It comes with a dropper applicator and that actually works (unlike the Dermablend Flawless Creator Foundation dropper).  This has 1.12 fl oz, a little bit more than most foundations on the market.  I love Serum foundations.  I think it is beautiful on the skin, it looks natural and flawless when applied properly.  One of my favorite serum foundations was discontinued by Sephora, it is the Sephora Collection Teinte Infusion Serum Foundation.  This foundation is very similar to the Sephora one.  It applies beautifully, it is easy to blend, it melts into the skin - it's like skin but way better.  I enjoy it so much that I am taking it with me to my trip during the holidays.  I am venturing into a cooler climate so this will help keep my skin hydrated as well.  I have been using this foundation for five consecutive days and it has held up nicely on an 8hr day.  It has a beautiful finish.  It really makes the skin look so fresh and radiant.  If you like a full coverage foundation, this is not for you.  This has a light coverage, possibly medium.

The only con I have with this product is it only has five shades (with limited undertones, too)- and that is a big deal to me.  Makeup Companies need to come out with a variety of shades that people can use.  I use the shade Medium Deep, which is not exactly a deeper medium shade but I can work around it since it has a natural finish and can easily layer it with a darker powder or bronzer.

Would I recommend this product? If you love serum foundations and enjoy a light coverage, this is a good foundation and it has a decent price point.  I have normal skin and tend to be on the drier side during cooler months so if you have oily skin - this may not work for you but if you pair it with a good mattifying primer, you might just love it as much as I do.  Sadly, there is a very limited shade selection so I do not recommend it if you are on the paler or darker side of the spectrum.
