Product Review | Morphe Matte Lipstick

Product Review | Morphe Matte Lipstick in Honey and Tempt ($9, Ulta)

Product Details (from Ulta's website): This lip-lockin' lineup is truly love at first swipe. Morphe Matte Lipstick features a mad-hot matte finish, full-on coverage, and deeply pigmented shades that aren't afraid of commitment. Say no more. The L-bomb has been dropped.

Review:  Morphe is stepping up their game by launching these matte lipsticks.  First of all, let us talk about the packaging.  I love the black box with white typography along with the shade color that looks like side walk paint that provides contrast on the black packaging.  The lipstick is not your typical rounded bullet.  It has very straight edges and the top has a slant with the brand's logo on it.  It looks very sleek and classy for a $9 lippie.  These are matte (Tempt & Honey) but are not drying at all.  They have a similar formula to the Colourpop Luxe Lipstick.  They are pigmented and looks very pretty on the lips.  They are so good I ended up picking up another shade called Forevs (see swatch below) although it has a satin finish.  I love how moisturizing it feels on the lips.  The shade Tempt is actually a deeper brown nude instead of the reddish undertone on the swatch.  The lighting changed color swatches.  You can now purchase these at Ulta store so it is great that you can swatch the shades before purchasing.  These are lipsticks I would recommend along with the Colourpop Luxe Lipsticks.
