Product Review | E.L.F. Cosmetics Lash It Loud Volumizing Mascara in Black ($6, Elfcomsetics.com, Ulta.com)

Product Details (from E.L.F's website):  A mega volume mascara that helps your lashes look fuller, bolder and longer than ever.  Volume that hits all the high notes! This formula’s intensely rich pigments easily coat lashes for a bigger and bolder look. The sleek flexible wand hugs every single lash with both vertical and horizontal bristles to amplify, define & add dimension.

Review: E.L.F. makes some of my favorite makeup items.  I have tried their previously released mascaras (the ones in the black tube) and they were okay, not bad, just okay.  I have heard so many good reviews about this mascara so I was excited to finally try it.  It comes in a rose gold box with black typography.  The tube is also in rose gold with a black cap and rose gold trim.  It has a longer wand; shorter bristles made of plastic (or plastic-like).  I like this type of applicator especially for providing length and volume.  If you know me, mascaras are one of those items I try not to spend over $20 and with so many good drugstore mascaras out there, I really don't find the need for higher end ones.

The first thing I noticed about this mascara is the wet formula.  I prefer a drier formula but some mascaras tend to have a drier formula after a few uses.  I like how this coats my lashes.  It definitely lengthens it; not sure about volumizing but I also have very straight eyelashes.  I typically have to wait at least 30 seconds for this to dry before applying another coat; otherwise, it can get clumpy.  Also, make sure that you wait about a minute or so after applying this mascara before using a setting spray otherwise you'll end up like me with mascara all over your lower lids.  It's rare that I have that happen with most mascaras I own but it happened with this one.   Other than that, I really enjoy the lengthening aspect of this mascara although it claims to be more volumizing.  I still prefer my Maybelline Mascaras over this; but if you are patient enough to wait for it to dry before doing another coat and setting your face, you might like this one.  Again, this is one of those, it's not bad and I like it but not enough for me to repurchase it.
