Product Review | Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation ($45, Sephora)

According to the Sephora website, it is glowing, satin-finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage. It enhances, without masking, your overall natural complexion. The weightless formula hydrates the skin while complexion brightening properties improve skin brightness, radiance, and texture, leaving skin with a luminous, sensual glow.  Suitable for normal, normal-to-dry, dry, and very dry skin types. Dermatologist tested. Non‑comedogenic. Fragrance free.

This is my one of my holy grail foundation. I started using this around 2014 and I still love it to this day. Nars, as always, packages their items in a very classic but high end packaging. This foundation comes in a 1oz bottle with a nice and sleek black cover. However, this does not come with a pump. You can purchase the pump separately at Nordstrom's for $6. They shipped it for free and I got it in two days. Problem solved but for a $45 foundation, that pump should not have been an extra expense.

I love this foundation because it is lighteweight, hence the name "Sheer Glow" and it makes my skin luminous. It is buildable but I rarely or almost never put two layers of foundation on my face. I really like the feel of "second skin" when it comes to foundations. I have Barcelona (Medium 4) and Syracuse, which is the next color up. I match well with Syracuse, especially it's neutral and yellow undertones.  This foundation applies easily and it blends smoothly on the skin. Despite the luminous properties, it does not make my skin look shiny or oily. However, I set this with a powder and use a setting spray and it stays on all day, a typical 8hr work day.
