Product Review | YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer ($52, Sephora)

According to the Sephora website, it is an illuminating primer that blurs imperfections and boosts the radiance of foundation. Touche Elcat Blur Primer preps skin for foundation application, creating an improved, refined appearance: pores seem to be minimized, skin texture feels smoother, and skintone is more even. It’s enriched with four nourishing oils—corn oil, apricot kernel oil, passiflora oil, and rice bran oil—to leave skin feeling incredibly soft without a greasy residue. Packed with blur technology, this universal primer provides a subtle, golden shimmer for ultimate luminosity. This product is noncomedogenic, and it’s suitable for all skintones, including sensitive ones.

I purchased mine as a part of the Sephora VIB Rouge sale for obvious reasons, the price is too steep. For many that know me well, primers for me do nothing but extend the wear of my makeup due to the fact that I have very small pores, almost invisible and I have an even skin tone. So for me to buy a primer with this price tag is almost null and void.

YSL being the classic luxury brand came prepared with their exquisite glass bottle packaging and gold cap. It matches the gold flecks that you can see through the bottle. The price point for me is what made me wait so long to purchase it.  Moving on to the product itself, it is a very light silicone feel and it does have a slight scent to it, but it smells nice and fresh, which does not linger so long. Because of the lightweight consistency of the products, it is easy to apply and blend as it melts on the skin so nicely providing a very even canvas to your foundation or any other liquid makeup. It makes my foundation look dewy without the grease ball effect.  In fact, it gives it a nice radiant glow.  It definitely makes my makeup last longer, but most primers do that for me. This product does not make my skin break out, which is a plus. Does it blur pores? Possibly. Again, I do not have very visible pores, so I cannot test that for you.

I really enjoy this primer and love how it makes my skin feel, with or without foundation or any makeup. Is this a holy grail product for me? No. Would I repurchase? Probably.
