Product Review | YSL Volupte Heart of Light Powder Blush

Product Review | YSL Volupte Heart of Light Powder Blush in Light 09 ($48, Sephora)

Product Details (from Sephora's website): A radiant and luminous blush with two colors and textures in one.  Yves Saint Blush Volupté is a blush and highlighter that provides contouring and achieves a vibrant glow. Featuring “color light prism" technology, this makeup offers balanced consistency between how the blush looks and the application result. The higher saturation of color pigments offers intense color payoff, and the extra thin particles give a natural and buildable look.

Review:  Every now and then I love splurging in a luxury brand blush.  Tom Ford was my first ever luxury brand blush which cost an arm and a leg but I felt it was worth it.  I feel the same about this purchase especially that it was one of the goodies from April's Sephora VIB Sale which came with a 20%.  I have a couple of other YSL face products and their packaging is just luxurious - from its gold box with a glossy finish and the actual product with a touch of gold plus the felt fabric sleeve that comes with it - it is luxury at its finest.  This blush is one of those mosaic type where there are color gradients - in this case it is a peach/coral shade - which varies in intensity per block.  I love that you can dip your brush on the lighter or darker parts of the blush or swirl it all around to get a good mix of each shade. The powder is soft, creamy and buttery.  It is easy to apply and blend.  It is also very pigmented and long-wearing.  It has a nice sheen to it but not overpowering.  I prefer blushes with a sheen because it gives the face some dimension and it lights up the face area.  Sometimes matte blushes tend to make the skin look flat and dry at times.

Would I repurchase? Yes.
