Tips & Tricks | How I Keep My Makeup Sweat Proof During The Summer

[via]

When my friends ask me why my makeup is still intact on a hot summer day, here are 5 things that I do to make sure nothing on my face budges (keep in mind I have a normal skin type):

1. Prep your face by using a mattifying moisturizer and an oil-free primer.  Spray a layer of setting spray after this application.

Products Used:
Formula 10.0.6 Mattifying Face Moisturizer
Laura Geller Spackle Mattifying Oil-Free Face Primer
Skindinavia Oil Control Setting Spray

2.  Use an oil-free and lightweight liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer.  When applying the liquid product, it is preferred to use a dampened sponge to evenly distribute the product.  A dampened sponge also helps prevent any movement of the product.  Spray a layer of setting spray after this application.

Products Used:
Mac Next To Nothing Face Colour or It Cosmetics CC Cream with SP50
Beauty Blender
Skindinavia Oil Control Setting Spray

3.  Make sure to set your face with a powder (loose or pressed) once you have applied all liquid make up such as concealer, correctors, or any other cream products.  However, when setting your face with a powder, make sure to use a damp sponge to pick up the powder and lightly press it on your face to transfer the product.  Spray another layer of setting spray.

Products Used:
Mac Mineralized Skin Finish Naturals (Pressed Powder) OR Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder (Loose Powder)
Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer (I use a cream concealer versus a liquid concealer)
Skindinavia Oil Control Setting Spray

4.  Try to use as much oil-free or waterproof products during the summer season.

Product Suggestions:
MUFE Waterproof Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hr Blush
Waterproof Mascara such as Too Faced Better Than Sex, Smashbox Full Exposure
Cargo Water Resistant Blush
Mac Pro Longwear Waterproof Foundation
Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Pencil
L'Oreal Frame and Set Waterproof Brow Pomade
Use a cream concealer such as Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer versus a liquid concealer
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer

5.  The lighter the makeup you wear during the summer, the easier it is to lock it down and make it budge proof.  Also no matter what you do - always wear sunscreen (I recommend CoTz Skincare brand)!
