Review:  This is a complimentary product from Influenster.  No monetary compensation was involved.  I was literally surprised when I received this VoxBox in the mail.  Typically, Influenster sends an e-mail to alert me that a VoxBox is coming but somehow, I did not get any for this one - but I am not complaining.  I have heard of Dermablend but have never tried any products from them and honestly, was not really inclined to for whatever reason.

The box packaging is nothing fancy - white box with a clear window to see the product and black typography.  Works for me.  The product is contained in a clear glass bottle with black typography and a dropper since this is a serum.  Again - this is the first time I am trying this product and the brand so I literally went in blind (I did not read any information on the website about the brand or specific brand after receiving this VoxBox).  I find that the dropper is hard to use.  It did not dispense the product as most regular droppers would (i.e. NYX Total Control Foundation dropper).  I suspected that it was possibly due to the consistency of the product being slightly thicker than most serums (not too bad of a consistency but maybe a pump option would have worked just fine).

I was sent the shade 37W (typically Influenster does a survey on possible shades but sometimes it is hard to match the right shade online) for this product.  The shade is a tad bit light for me but I was able to make it work by using a darker powder and bronzer.  I found this product  pigmented but not the easiest to blend.  I used a Beauty Blender to apply this product and usually I find it the best and easiest to use to apply any liquid product on my face.  It has a nice finish but it is slightly tacky so it is best to set it with a powder, otherwise, you may get a patchy application applying other face products on top of it.  It did not make my face oily (I have normal skin but sometimes Serum foundation have the tendency to produce oils on any skin type).  It also did not break my skin out which is a definite plus.

I honestly did not enjoy using this product as a foundation regardless of the beautiful finish, however, I prefer using it as a foundation mixer.  I did not necessarily use it to alter the color of my foundation but just to add a nice balance to a thinner consistency foundation.  I particularly enjoyed pairing this product with my Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Foundation.

Since I do not enjoy using this product on its own, I cannot fully recommend it.  However, if you need something else to mix with your foundation, this is a good one but not for $40 (keep in mind I received mine as a complimentary product).
