Product Review | By Terry Compact-Expert Dual Powder

Product Review | By Terry Compact-Expert Dual Powder  in  4 Beige Nude ($48, Beautylish)

Product Details (from Beautylish's website): Instantly mattify, highlight, and set your makeup with BY TERRY Compact-Expert Dual Powder. This hybrid setting powder features two finishes—matte and luminous—with a smooth, weightless texture that blends into skin without settling into fine lines or wrinkles.

I.M.C (Intensive Mimetic Camouflage) technology and self-adaptive light-focus pigments blur pores and create a natural, healthy-looking luminosity.  Sweep your brush around the outer ring to set your foundation or add subtle depth to the contours of your face.  Highlight the tops of your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose with the luminous powder in the center of the compact.

Review:  This is my second By Terry purchase after falling in love with their Sun Designer Palette.  To be completely honest, I thought this was a blush compact with the similar effect to the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic blush (obviously I did not read the description and just added it on my cart).

The box packaging is a reflective deep blue color with a purple hint and a silver typography.  The compact is a sturdy plastic case with a mirror.  The outer powder is a matte finish in beige and the middle powder is the highlighter in nude.  You can swirl your brush on both the mattifying powder and the highlighter or use them separately.  I use this as an overall glow powder (I swirl my brush to achieve this) utilizing a large stippling brush and lightly dusting it all over the face.  I do not use this to set my makeup or set the under eye area.  Do I enjoy this powder? Yes, I do.  Do I recommend it? Only if you want to splurge.  Otherwise, you can purchase the Laura Mercier Glow Powder if you are looking for a nice sheen on the skin effect.  If you own any of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, you can definitely skip this product.
