Product Review | Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation in Shade 8 ($44, Sephora and Beautylish)

Product Details (from Sephora's website): A long lasting, medium-buildable coverage foundation with a demi-matte finish and SPF 15 to protect skin.

Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Foundation is a miracle in a bottle, perfect for all skin types and tones. This award-winning weightless formula offers medium-buildable coverage for everything from minor imperfections to more full coverage skin concerns like acne and rosacea. Rich in antioxidants, it reduces the look of wrinkles, age spots, and discoloration to leave you looking youthful and refreshed. Concentrated mushroom extract improves firmness, tightens pores, and moisturizes. Supercharged vitamin C gives you a lit-from-within effect, while hyaluronic acid reduces the appearance of wrinkle grooves to retexture the skin in as little as one hour. The Magic Foundation is recommended for those with acne scarring, mature skin, and normal to tired skin. Its formula is collagen-boosting to reduce the appearance of age spots up to 75 percent in four months and the appearance of acne in as little as nine weeks.

Review:  I have been wanting to try this foundation for a while but I was waiting until a few of my current foundations were either used up or nearing their expiration  date prior to purchasing a new one.  The foundation comes in a nice frosted bottle with white typography.  It comes with a pump which I always appreciate.  The box packaging is pink with dark brown typography and the shade number on top of the box.  The shade color is also shown.  It contains 1 fl oz which is typical of most foundations in the market and retails for $44.

The product's consistency is slightly moussey but not heavy.  It is actually light and airy.  I feel that I have to work quickly in dabbing my beauty sponge all over my face.  So a quick tip, start in sections instead of dotting it all over your face.  However, this blends like a dream and sinks into the skin very nicely.  It does have a medium coverage; although many of you know that I will try to sheer out a foundation to a light coverage most of a time and that is what I did.  It is beautiful on the skin and has a decent wear time.  I do not have skin textures or large pores so I cannot attest to its claims regarding acne and rosacea.  I have not used this product on a daily basis for four months either so I cannot see all of its claims regarding changes in skin appearance or reduction of fine lines.  However, for the two weeks that I have used this product daily, it has kept my skin hydrated and radiant without the cakey finish.  I do recommend this product if you want a nice and light-feeling medium coverage foundation.
