Review: Face Palettes has been a thing of the past for me, with the exception of a select few. Not that they are not good, I just often find these products tucked away in the back of my drawers unused. The last face palette I purchased that blew me away in all aspects including the price was Hourglass' Unlocked Palette (which was a Limited Edition release for the 2018 holiday season). Because of that, I purchased Becca's "Be The Light" palette since it reminded me of the Hourglass Unlocked Palette on the surface. However, the "Be The Light" palette was underwhelming, in other words a disappointment for its $44 or $49 price range. When the Becca X Khloe/Malika palettes were released, I was fairly certain it was a similar quality to the "Be The Light" palette, so I skipped it.
When Charlotte Tilbury recently dropped the Lightgasm and Lovegasm palettes, I was certain I was going to pick it up when it came out at Sephora or Beautylish. However, a review from one of my favorite YouTubers, Tara Lynn made me change my mind about the palette and convinced me to purchase the Becca X Khloe palette instead.
The packaging is a high shine silver box with white typography with the words "Becca X Khloe (insert heart emoji here) Malika". The actual compact looks exactly the same except it is a silver metal with a heart embossed with with the words "Becca BFFS" printed on it. Since the heart is embossed, this compact will not lay flat if stored on the side where the heart is. The palette comes with a highlighter, a blush topper, a blush and a bronzer (see swatches below). The formula of this palette is so different from the "Be The Light" palette. This powders on this palette are creamy, soft but very pigmented. The highlighter provides a luminous sheen on the face. The blush topper is a golden peach sheen that can be used on its own or as a muted highlighter. The peach blush has a nice sheen on the cheeks with a lot of pigment. The bronzer is a satin-matte finish which achieves a natural glow when applied on the skin. The best thing about these powders - they are long-wearing.
I have known Becca to create beautiful formulas such as their individual highlighters and blushes and this palette is no exception.
Would I recommend this palette? Absolutely. If you missed the Hourglass Unlocked Palette release last year, this is a good alternative and half the price. Of course, you can get this for a cheaper price during the Sephora VIB sale and at Ulta when they have their 20% coupon sales.
