Product Review | Guerlain L' Essential Natural Glow Foundation 16HR Wear in 04W Moyen More (51 Euro/$60 USD, Sephora Paris and in-stores in the U.S. on September 1st)

Product Details (from Sephora's website): A long-wearing liquid foundation with 97-percent naturally-derived ingredients* with buildable coverage and a natural-glow finish.  This innovative formula is enriched with skincare benefits to hydrate and balance the skin. The silky-smooth texture becomes one with skin, and the complexion looks perfected, luminous, and fresh.

Review:  I first heard about this foundation from Tara Lynn on YouTube.  I remember she mentioned that she paid $35 to get it shipped to the United States since it won't be in-stores until September.  You all know I love anything natural and if it has glow in it, I'm all for it.  When we went to France for our honeymoon in May, this was definitely on my list.

The packaging is a nice satin finish black box with gold typography.  It comes in a glass bottle although the shape of the bottle is not like most foundations in the market.  The shape almost looks like a sculpture due to how the silver cap leans on one side.  But then again, luxe packaging only goes so far if the product does not perform.

The consistency of the foundation is fairly thin, which I like.  It applies easily and it blends well.  It sinks into the skin not sits on top of it.  It does provide a natural finish but it still leaves the skin with a nice glow.  I did wear this a bit while in Paris and the weather was really hot.  However, I can't wear makeup for a long time when it is really hot so I took it off after a few hours so I can't attest to the 16HR wear.  I wore this foundation for an entire week to test when I came back to work after vacation.  The foundation is beautiful and it lasted for a full eight to nine hour work day.  This is actually a great foundation for the summertime due to its lightweight consistency, so if you like to wear foundation during the warmer weather, this is a good one to use.  I haven't worn any foundation since trying this for a week, but I have enjoyed using it.  I have been going bare face with the exception of some cream products such as bronzer, blush and concealer.

Would I recommend this product?  You really have to love a sheer to light coverage for me to recommend that you run out and buy this because it is very expensive.  If you love a full coverage foundation, this is not for you and it will be a waste of money.  I did not even try building it up to a medium coverage.  If you want to treat yourself, this is a great foundation.  The Charlotte Tilbury Youth Perfecting Foundation is a great alternative and slightly cheaper than this one if you want a lighter foundation to use for the summertime.
