Review: Colourpop came out with their Pretty Fresh complexion line in 2019. I was impressed with the Hyaluronic Facial Mist and decided to pick this one up during one of their sales earlier this month. The box packaging is a simple but classic nude pink color with white typography. The product is contained in a tube, however, it comes with a pump for a mess-free and easy way to dispense the product. I picked up the shade 12W and honestly, I could have probably gone a shade or two darker (13W or 14W). However, since this is a tinted moisturizer, the shade works just fine. The consistency of this tinted moisturizer is thick, in other words not a runny liquid. It is easy to apply and blend. It sinks into the skin after application and does not provide a cakey appearance. While this tinted moisturizer provides sheer to light coverage, it is quite tacky on the skin after application. It takes quite a while for it to dry. I recommend setting this moisturizer with a powder to decrease the tacky feeling on the skin.
I mentioned on my Instagram stories that the first time I used this tinted moisturizer (I used my trusted facial mist, face primer and setting spray), it made my skin feel oily towards the end of the day even after using a setting powder. The next time I used it (which was literally the next day), I did not use a hydrating facial mist but instead used my Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Retouch Primer which is a semi-matte finish. I also used my MAC Fix Plus Matte Setting Spray and my face did not feel oily at all towards the end of the day. The tinted moisturizer provided a nice and seamless natural finish to the skin. It is long-wearing and definitely kept the skin hydrated throughout the day.
The line offers 24 shades which is not bad for an affordable brand. It has an all-star skincare ingredients. The only con I have about this product is I have to work harder or veer off of my daily products to ensure that it does not make my skin oily at the end of the day. Is that a deal-breaker? Not really. However, this will not be a product I will use when I am on the go due to the fact that I cannot just apply this on my skin can call it a day; otherwise, I will be a grease ball case. Keep in mind, I already have normal to dry skin so if you have oily or combination skin, I am not sure this product is for you.
