Product Review | ELF Cosmetics Matte Putty Primer ($8, ELF website, Ulta and Target)

Product Details (from Ulta's website):  e.l.f.'s best-selling primer goes matte. e.l.f.'s skin perfecting Matte Putty Primer is infused with Kaolin and White Charcoal to absorb excess oil for a shine-free finish. The velvety texture glides effortlessly over the skin, smoothing over imperfections for a poreless effect and the ultimate grip on makeup.

Review:  If you have read my previous review on the Hard Candy Mattifying Primer, I mentioned I wanted to try this primer to compare the two and keep which one performs the best.  I love both the original Poreless Putty Primer and the Illuminating Putty Primer from E.L.F. so I figured this will deliver just as the previously mentioned items did.

This comes in a black box with white typography, typical of their putty primers.  There is a cut out window where you can see and touch the container of the primer.  T";he matte primer has a white color and a consistency somewhat similar to the original Poreless Putty formula with the exception of its matte textures once massaged onto the skin.  It is lightweight, easy to apply and white it is a mattifying primer, it does not feel to dry on the skin.  I have a normal to dry skin type and I typically do not use mattifying primers.  However, I want to find one mattifying primer that I can use to pair with my Colourpop Tinted Moisturizer which leaves an excessive glow at the end of the day making my skin feel oily.  Due to the consistency of this primer, I think this will also work if you have oily or combination skin.  This primer definitely extended the wear of my makeup and controlled the end of day oily feel from my tinted moisturizer.  For my skin type, this is a primer perfect for the summertime paired with some of my extremely dewy moisturizers.  I feel that the Hard Candy one, based on its consistency, will work as a mattifying primer during the cooler months.
