Product Review | YSL Touche Eclat Radiance Awakening Foundation

Product Review | YSL Touche Eclat Radiance Awakening Foundation ($58, Sephora) : According to the Sephora website, this is a bestselling foundation, now in an advanced formula, that reduces the look of fatigue and creates flawless coverage.

Touche Éclat Le Teint Radiance Awakening Foundation is enriched with stimulating Ruscus Extract, an anti-fatigue formula that energizes skin by stimulating micro-circulation and targeting dullness to instantly improve the look your skin’s brightness and luminosity, while the Vitamin E protects against free radicals. Formulated with SPF 22 to provide sun protection, it leaves a weightless finish while offering eight hours of a refreshed, radiant look.

This is one of my favorite foundations not only because of the product itself but because Mr. B picked me up from work one day and told me he had to make a quick stop somewhere and little did I know he was going to take me to Sephora to buy a few items I want since it had been a stressful week for me (I also snagged a Dior blush and a Too Faced bronzer on this shopping spree).

Anyway, enough of the mush and let us get on with the review.  As mentioned above, this was an unplanned trip so I really was not aware of this foundation or did not do any research prior to purchasing it.  I looked around the store and was leaning towards to YSL Teinte Idole Ultra Longer foundation but since I have the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer, I decided to try this instead.  With its classic packaging, a gold cap and clear heavy duty bottle in a gold box, YSL always delivers.  I can honestly say that this probably has a medium coverage and could be built up.  I say that because I tend to use the smallest amount of product due to my preference of a lighter coverage.  This is also the reason why it takes me forever to get through foundations.  The consistency is not too thick, not too thin, it is a great happy medium in my opinion.  It applies smoothly on the skin and it is easy to blend.  It does not look like cake face and it really makes the skin looks fresh and bright.  I have received so many compliments when wearing this foundation.  It has a good wear time.  I would say 8 hours as I have never worn it any longer than that.  Maybe 9 to 10 hours at the most on a work day. It does have SPF 22 which adds some protection if you are going to be outdoors for a short period of time on hot a day.  I did not experience any flashback on photos with this foundation however, I only took photos during the day time.  I will have to try if it is the same with flash photography at night.

This does not make my skin oily or break me out, which is always a plus.  I hate it when the foundation has a beautiful finish but leaves me with an irritated skin.  The foundation color range is also amazing because it has 22 different shades with a  wide range of undertones (neutral, cool and warm) that suits all skin tones.

Would I repurchase? Despite the high price tag, I think it is worth it - so that would be a yes.
