Review: Hourglass has released Holiday Palettes the past few years. None of them enticed me until the Unlocked Palette for a few reasons: First, the shades do not cater to my skin tone and probably not for those with deeper ones. Two, the shades are not unique as they already exist in their regular line. Three, the pan sizes are small for its $80 price tag. However, this year I ignored the price tag because for the first time they released all new shades for the palette and it catered to people with medium to deeper skin tones. I love Hourglass blushes, powders, bronzers and highlighters. I have quite a few of them in their regular sized individual compacts. I also love the the powders do not have any swirls on them which can alter pigmentation. I do not purchase their blushes online because I need to open the packaging in-store to make sure I am getting more of the blush shade versus the swirled ambient powders to make sure pigment will show on my medium to tan skin tone.
The packaging is a gold compact similar to their blushes only larger. It contains 6 different pans: two powders, 1 bronzer, 2 blushes and 1 strobing powder. If you are familiar with the Hourglass formula, you will know that they are easy to blend, applies smoothly on the skin, the airy formula leaves a natural looking radiance without the cakey powder feel. I adore this palette. Too bad it is limited edition. I wish they would make them a part of their regular line creating individual compact sizes for each powder. If your skin tone is similar to mine, I highly recommend this palette.
